Pennsylvania Non-Resident Permit Change

Metro Defense Training Home - Classes - Instructors - Testimonials - Contact

Everyone,

I don't normally send out emails so close together, but this one is time-sensitive.

We've been recommending the Pennsylvania non-resident permit as a cheap and convenient method of being able to carry in a few more states, including North Dakota.

Sometime over the next 6 weeks, that's changing.

Pennsylvania is instituting a new system that will require applications--possibly to include renewals--be done in person.

According to the Centre County Sheriff:
2. The new system will require a personal appearance as we need to take
a photograph that will integrate into the Penn D.O.T. system in
Harrisburg as well as capture information by swiping the applicant's
driver's license and then having applicant sign on signature pad
connected to computer.

If you have any intention of getting a Pennsylvania non-resident permit to carry, do it now, or you will lose the opportunity.

Thanks,
Jason & Mike
